This workshop for all levels of artistic experience will explore acrylic collage with emphasis on composition, value, quality of application, and creative freedom.  We will practice our understanding of the elements and principles of art, and how they affect the aesthetics of composition.  We will create postcard-sized collages that are personal and meaningful. Various techniques for creating special papers will be offered. All supplies included, though you are welcome to bring your own favorite paints, brushes, papers and ephemera.

Alcohol Inks with Anna Alcalde

Follow Anna step by step as she guides you through creating a luminous alcohol ink sun-enhancer on framed glass. Alcohol ink art is a vibrant, fluid medium that uses fast-evaporating, alcohol-based inks on non-porous surfaces such as Yupo paper, glass, tile or metal.

In this class, you’ll explore both abstract and controlled techniques by dropping, blowing, and layering inks. Just as water activates watercolor, high-percentage isopropyl alcohol moves and shapes the inks, allowing you to manipulate color, texture, and flow.

To finish, we’ll add detailed embellishments using seed beads and wire, elevating each piece into a one-of-a-kind artwork ready to hang! This addictive medium offers endless possibilities and uniquely colorful results. The final touch is a glossy resin sealant—the perfect cherry on top!
